Smeafield Xindel is a twin out of our ewe we call Fudge. He is brother to our ewe lamb called Twirl, and hence Smeafield Xindel is otherwise known as Twix! For all you chocolate lovers – you will see the link!
So as stated his dam is Fudge and his sire is Greenfield Pendragon.
Twix and his sister were very close throughout their time on their Mum, although Twirl and Gizmo did have a good friendship too. Twix until recently didn’t really enjoy the attention as much as Gizmo but I think this is primarily because he was handled a little less.
We decided to take him to the same 1st show 1st as Gizmo and so he was up against him and the rest of the very strong class of 11. Sadly there were only placings until 4th at his first show but he didn’t make it into the top 4.
However we were really pleased with how much he has matured, he was well behaved at the show, and looked really smart. As he is nearly a month younger than Gizmo and was a twin he has not yet got the body mass that Gizmo has. But we think he will be a really smart ram as a shearling, he is very correct and we think he will ultimately be taller than Gizmo.
